Yes it is but there are three ferries per day to Caen. Morning, afternoon and overnight. I always use the afternoon ferry cooked through the C&MC, this is the cheapest crossing. There is a one available now for next year (june) costing £285.80 which includes 4 site vouchers at £87.80 so ferry, 2 adults and 1 caravan return cost equivalent of £198. It gets in at 9.30pm the local campsite in 1/2 mile stays open for people coming off the ferry. Then up nice and early and set off.

That settles it.......Portsmouth - Caen for me next year.
