We're just on our way back from Austria and had an overnight stop in Verdun.
I woke up for the loo at just before 1am and had a quick glance out of the hotel window.
I spotted a guy wearing a crash helmet walking down the road outside the locked car park. He then came through the pedestrian gate and went straight towards my motorbike.
As my bike was the only one in the car park I new something was going on.
I threw some clothes on and ran down the stairs.
When the hotel lobby lights came on automatically the guy ran off back up the road.
I stood and waited as in the dead of night I could hear voices. About 10 minutes later a motorbike started up a went past really slowly, with two people on.
It got a few hundred metres down the road and stopped.
I waited again and surely, half an hour later I heard it start up again.
This time I went out towards the road and made sure they saw me looking at them.
It was the last I saw of them but it still kept me awake all night until the hotel staff came in a 5:30.
There's no way would they have taken my bike as it's got two alarms and enough locks to be very difficult.
