Hi all,
Next year we are looking to head to Germany for a wee change. Looking for recommendations for a site on or very close to the Rhine, between Koln and Mainz. Only requirements are for a quiet site within a picturesque area.

Why not try the Mosel River, Camping Erden, 6 miles north of Bernkastel Kues, very quite small village, plenty of vineyards and a nice drive along the Mosel to the Rhine at Koblenz, Mosel cycle path runs past the gate, plenty of very nice cycle rides.

We have stayed at camping Sonneneck 5 times.You can throw a line into the Rhine from your pitch your that close. Excellent camping. Bus stop out the front to Boppard or Koblenz. They ard very friendly and the showers and toilets are spotless. Its 5km from Boppard so you can ride a bike ifvwanting to. We were there 2 weeks ago.

I note your comment for a quiet site.

The Rhine/Moselle can be noisy with barges and trains going by constantly. You may want to look away from the river
