Anyone in France or Spain? It might be interesting to ask a local Vet how much they would charge for this blood test! (Not suggesting anyone should actually have it done there, though).

So far it appears that in the UK prices vary from £90 to £230.46 which is a huge difference.


Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

You're not kidding! I thought at first the price was for an entire passport plus rabies titre test, but no, they confirmed it's just for collecting bloods and the titre test. It's a multi-branch surgery so I rang a other branch to triple-check and was quoted the same price.

Suddenly, the price quoted by my own vet seems reasonable...

That's what we paid back in October. I can get a current quote if you like - as someone said, maybe the testing companies have put their prices up.

Testing companies have not increased prices.

Why not do it yourself, I don't mean take the blood, get you vet to draw and give you blood sample and send to Biobest, already mentioned in last page.
Doing it this way would be roughly £90-100.

You've actually done this? Does the vet have to complete the passport about test results? Was there a charge for that?

As just posted the the other thread, I emailed my vet back at the beginning of February, asking if they'd be prepared to take bloods so I could submit for testing. Your post has just reminded me, I received no reply.

If there's an extension to article 50, does that mean no change to current pet passport requirements until after the new Brexit date?

Yep thats about it lidds0 we’ll still be full members until the new date - either way I’ll just scrape in either for May / June scooting home before the end or if its 2 years happy days!
