Heading to Croatia with caravan and 6yr old next Summer - first stop about 4hrs from ferry is around Metz but can't find any sites there; if anyone can recommend a scenic place with a heated pool that would be great.

I have stayed here twice, but not recently.

I seem to remember it had an excellent resturaunt, but things change.

Yes, Possibly..

I did it from Calais, but it was on a motorbike.

How about going through Belgium/ Luxembourg - stopping here just before the Luxembourg border - cheap fuel in Luxembourg. Camping Officiel, Arlon

There's a municipal campsite at Metz, walking distance to town which is quite nice. Campsite is ok for an overnight stop.

There is a municipal camp site in molshiem a little South of Strasbourg with a public bath's across the road,free to campers very nice place and site Arthur
