We went to the same sites when ours stopped coming. Enjoy kids on a site as it adds a bit of life.
Now we meet up with our kids with their kids (grandkids) and still enjoy it. Hard work and expensive but keeps us young.

Hi,
We still go to the same sites, kids still join us some of the time, which we enjoy but we’ve also explored other places & other campsites we probably wouldn’t have chosen before, which we’ve also loved. We enjoy the differences, still like the life & busyness of the more commercial sites but also the calm & quiet of small municipal!

Firstly, stop bragging, secondly go to sites YOU enjoy, not catering to ankle biters and adolescents now. Enjoy, till the grandkids appear lol.

Still the same sort of sites! We like a pool, a bar, a nice riverside setting, low-key entertainment, and still choose those sort of sites. But we go in a different season, and now generally outside of UK school holidays, when sites are much quieter. However, like others, this year we met up with our children and grand-children during the summer school holiday - but they had a gite and we pitched up in the (very quiet - only us there) field attached to the gite where we stayed for one week of their two-week holiday.
As far as recommendations go, where have you been already, and what do you like doing when you're on holiday? Recommendations will differ if you love beaches, or a visit to a wine cave every other day, compared to those who love a wander in the hills, bird-watching, or wild-water canoeing.

Read through the site reviews on here, as many as you are able.
You will notice that regular reviewers tend to indicate why they like/dislike a particular site. In this way you can find the sites that suit kindred spirits.
Are you gregarious or misanthropic? Do you like cycling up precipices or want just flat paths? Nearby supermarkets or miles from anywhere and so on.

Without kids you can use a smaller tent and take much less kit. This allows you greater mobility, you can move around from place to place if you wish. With only the 2 of you you won't have to book ahead unless you are going to popular or the usual destinations
Cooking becomes much simpler and quicker and you can afford better food and even restaurants.
Getting ready to go to the beach etc becomes much quicker, you'll have more time to get yourself ready without having to check on each other's progress so you'll have more time at your destinations.
Only go to adult only sites if you actively dislike other people children.
------------- Enjoy the liveliness of the syntax.

I recall our first camping holiday without the kids. We still used our 9-berth Wynnster Antares with the bedroom pods only on one side.
We could have parked the car inside the tent with us !
We now have a more sensible sized tent so do without the roof box.
We look for quieter sites now there are just the two of us.
------------- I can remember when this was all fields.

Now that we go during low season we can afford much better camp sites than when we took the kids in school holidays.
