Flights to Malaga about £60 return, decent Cordoba hotels from about £30 a room, bus travel cheap and frequent. Is it worth taking a caravan all the way down there?

I share your views Netherton as we are at present just east of Malaga, having flown here. A very nice apartment cost us £550 for a month so we just don’t see the need to caravan down here. We’ve also looked at a few sites and don’t fancy it at all, however if caravaners are away for months on end, it could be an option.
We’ve been to Córdoba and Seville previously and both are well worth visiting. Córdoba hotels were particularly cheap with Booking.com
It’s a bit more than £60 return though when you add on a couple of pieces of luggage (EasyJet) but i suppose you could do it with hand luggage only. Have a word with Mrs Oxter please.

I doubt that anyone would take a caravan all the way to Cordoba, see nothing else then drive all the way back! After all plenty of folk on this forum seem to be quite happy to take a caravan all the way to the South of France - so perhaps they should just fly to Nice, rent an apartment, and give up on caravanning altogether?

It’s cheaper to fly and rent if only staying a month or so in winter. That’s the point. Coming from Scotland, it’s cheaper and obviously quicker for us at this time than driving and tugging.
Thank you Oxter for your thoughts on visits of up to a month. My own reasons for going there would not be for a traditional caravan holiday but just to visit the historic towns - Granada, Ronda, Seville and Cadiz as well as Cordoba - for two weeks, perhaps a little more.
My evenings would be wandering the old streets and tapas bars in the town, but the Cordoba campsite that has been recommended looks to be 20 miles out. Not fun!
Summer would be too hot down here so I am looking at Booking.com and train timetables for spring or autumn - it looks easy to get around from place to place, and not too expensive. Thanks again.

Just now, we are renting a car for €400 for the month all inclusive. No mileage restriction. Would that be a better option?
We’ve spent time in all these places apart from Cadiz. Well worth the visits. Try Antequera too but maybe take more time in each than 2 weeks would allow. Two trips?
It has been 17/20+deg daily here for the past 11 days and the forecast is good looking ahead!
It is much cheaper just now of course.
Out for 5 course Valentine’s Day lunch today at €15 a head. Gourmet experience at the catering college with budding chefs, restaurateurs going through their paces.
We love it here.
Please don't leave Granada off the Andalucia 'greats' .... the top three are Granada, Cordoba and Sevilla ... then add more if you have time ... The Alhambra in Granada has to be THE top site to visit ... and ... at this time of year, no long queues ...
