Easter is a very popular holiday with the Spanish. The week leading up to Easter, known as Semana Santa, can be very busy. France would be less busy, but not as warm.

Easter will be busy in Spain - but it's worth going for all the local festivals and celebrations. If I were you I would go in the middle of the week before Easter and get yourselves a nice pitch, and then you'll be fine for the Easter period.
We've done the same many times in the past and not had a problem.
i was thinking of getting their a week before the acsi off season finished and paying the campsite rate or even book up with the campsite for say a month, covering the busy time. i suppose what concerns me is that their may not be any availability, as with the spanish and all other europeans on hols ,

There should be availability. Some pitches will be booked by other nationalities, but others will do what they always do in Europe - just turn up on the day. If you state, on arrival, that you wish to include the Easter period and they say 'Not possible' then at least you know, but I would think you should be fine. We've holidayed in Spain several times in the past, over the Easter period, without problems - and one time had two pitches - one for ourselves, and one for my sister and her family - next to each other (again not pre-booked).
The site is likely to fill up rapidly in the couple of days before Easter - so don't expect it to be a peaceful time, but it is an exciting time and worth doing just once at least, for the experience.
