Hi. Thinking of 3 or 4 nights in Britanny on way to the Loire. Can anyone recommend a quiet site which has space for a twin-axle van? Sites I’ve found are either all singing and dancing or have narrow access or small pitches.
Just need a good size pitch and decent toilet/shower facilities.
Thanks!

Camping du Motten at Ste Anne d'Auray is quiet and has the good access and space in open parkland you want - it's 10 or 12 miles west of Vannes and has good facilities. But there are three snags - it's only open from mid June to mid September, it's inland rather than coastal, and they may well charge you extra for a twin axle caravan. Does that rule it out?
Thanks Netherton. Won’t be going until mid June, not worried about coast and if it’s near Auray, even better! Will look at the cost to see what’s involved.
Thanks again for your time in replying so quickly.
The website isn't clear on pricing- but we paid €14 for two of us with car and caravan including electricity last June, There were six outfits there on a site which could take a hundred - we drove in one afternoon, picked a shady spot on grass under trees (no separate hedged squares) and said hello when the lady in charge arrived about 5pm. There is a price list at the gate saying that twin axles pay extra but whether that's enforced or not I don't know - the only way if you want to check is to e mail the town hall as it's a municipal site.

Even if there is an extra charge, it’s not going to be anywhere near the cost of a commercial site on the coast, so that won’t be a problem! It’s only for a few nights, anyway.
We visited Vannes from La Ferme de Lann Hoedic near Sarzeau when we stayed last September. The site is quiet, even when busy, and costs 16 euros a night with the ACSI card between 01-04-2019 - 10-07-2019 and 27-08-2019 - 31-10-2019. The last mile or so to the site is on smaller roads, but access is fine and the friendly and helpful owners take every type of unit!
Looking good at the moment as brexit could be finished.
Sticking to the subject, I've just booked at La Ferme de Lann Hoedic for May and it's cheap, looks good and the lady there, Mireille, speaks English and was most helpful, Looking forward to my stay.
Hi jjg.
Looks like I will be staying there, too, if all goes to plan. Looks and sounds good! Would have liked to have tried Camping de Motten, as recommended by Netherton, but it won’t be open in time for my trip now.
Does anyone know of a similar site near St Malo? Will need an overnight stay at the end of the holiday before catching morning ferry home.

Ellie, the campsite at Pleboulle (Camping Freche a l'Ane) is charming, owned and run by two ladies, and in a more interesting part of Brittany than the Sarzeau area which you mentioned - but it's 22 miles west of the St Malo ferryport. Depending what time your ferry departs you may perhaps think that too far for a morning dash to the ship.
Or in the same area but slightly nearer to St Malo, we can recommend the site at Matignon, again run by a lovely helpful young couple and in walking distance of the small town (with an amazing bakery).
