has anyone visited this site near Lyon? I would like to know how easy it is to get to. Equally if anyone knows of any other site more to the south of Lyon suggestions would be welcomed

Sorry you're not getting the answer you want, but I guess no one who is active at the moment has visited. I'm not sure what it is you're worried about as the site is just in a suburb of Lyon, with perfectly good roads to get there - you can try the route on google maps if you're really worried about it, but it all looks perfectly accessible to me from the autoroute A7 which takes you through Lyon. Exit at Pierre Benite, then take the A450 and then I would take the D432 off that road, and on to the D486 for the site itself.
Thank you - it's just that I know the roads around Lyon having driven round the outskirts many time and find some of them a little daunting with a van on the back! We once went down a side street (thanks sat nav) that was barely wide enough for the van. Hence my questions

Yes, I know what you mean. We did a similar thing in Clermont Ferrand - and has absolutely no option but to go the wrong way down a one way street! Fortunately no one was coming the other way, no police were around, and someone very kindly waved us out into the traffic at the other end! (Obviously they were used to it happening!).
Camping Le Nid du Parc (formerly Parc des Oiseaux) is only about half an hour or so drive from Lyon. We went intending to stay for one night and stayed for several as found it very relaxing and there were some interesting places to visit nearby. We couldn't believe we'd found such a tranquil spot so close to Lyon!
I'm not sure if it's changed hands or if it's simply a change of name, but maybe worth checking out? Access was easy enough, as I recall.
