We've booked Eurotunnel for the end of May and intend to leave our caravan in storage in France returning to it for a couple of months each year.
I've been searching the Internet for suitable storage trying to weigh up the pros and cons of different areas. We particularly like the south so would really appreciate any recommendations. We're insured with Towergate who tell us they do insure abroad but have to be sure that the storage is secure with a perimeter fence and CCTV.
Any recommendations or advice would be most welcome.

Not sure if this helps, but we got a quote from JBF Gardiennage at Frejus.

50€ month outside storage or 65€ inside storage.

Delivery or pick up of van if required 55€

I guess the price is what you would expect for the Med, the Ardeche storage prices were about half that.

We're storing on a campsite in the Ardeche region of southern France, and insuring through Towergate. The caravan is in a secure gated compound, next to the campsite and the owner's property. We pay 180 euros a year for storage, and for that we phone the owner of the site who will tow the caravan on to a pitch or outside the compound for us to tow it elsewhere. We can choose any vacant pitch, and he will place it appropriately (as your requirements) and even plug in the hook up if you're arriving imminently. When we're there we pay the nightly rate (in low season we use an ACSI Card which means we pay just 14 euros per night). In high season it's obviously more. We sometimes spend just a few days there, sometimes a month or two, but either is no problem. The site has a swimming pool (heated), good sanitaires heated in low season, access to a river beach, good sized flat pitches, a bar and restaurant with meals at the weekend in low season, and every day in high season.

In French peak season there is entertainment, which generally finishes early enough not to bother us when we're ready for sleeping. In low season there is the very occasional 'theme night' which might involve music.

Val A your storage sounds just what we're looking for as the Ardeche is far enough South to find some good weather early and late season, or to go further south.

Would you be kind enough to share the details?

We store near Angers (maybe too far north for you?) ... Insured by Towergate, indoors, secure, 185 euros per annum.

Think I may have found it on an old post. A site in Sampzon which looks very nice, and is not too far from the autoroute to facilitate travel elsewhere after a stay there.

Thanks Kelper. That's an excellent price for indoor storage but we use Eurotunnel as we have a dog so it's too far West for us.

Just hope common sense prevails around dogs and Brexit or we will be in trouble!f
