Can someone explain in simple language exactly what 90 days in 180 means. I keep a caravan in Agde and visit twice a year. Nominally this year from 24th April to June 12th and August 31st to October 14th. Help!
Hopefully a no deal Brexit will not happen.

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
My understanding is that, if there is no deal, in the 180 days following your first entry into France (or any other Schengen Agreement country) after the UK officially leaves the EU, you can be in any of those countries for a total of 90 days. Once your 90 days (in those 180) are up you have to return to the UK and cannot go back to France etc. until the original 180 days have expired. The next batch of 90 out of 180 days starts again on your next entry to France etc. .... I think!
When I had to apply for the Schengen as I had a foreign passport, it was 90 days in any one period and then I had to apply again if we were making a second trip to France in the same year and by year it is within a period of 365 days.
It was free for me as my spouse was British born and an EU citizen however there was the hassle of getting down to London for fingerprints etc. Not sure if the latter will apply to UK citizens. If after Brexit if you are married to an EU citizen i.e. German, French, Spanish etc then there should be no issue we hope. No one knows at present due to the dithering by this parliament on both sides!
It all seems very complicated.
Hopefully for this year (for us anyway) it won’t be an issue as the date for exiting the EU recedes ever further into the future. Had the UK left on 29th March or even April 12th without a deal, we would have had to curtail our planned holidays for this year.
I looked at how to get a visa, should we have needed one, but gave it up as a bad job as I couldn’t work out the process and decided it was easier to give up a couple of weeks of our holidays - cheaper too!
