We are travelling by ferry to Bilbao before travelling onto Bergerac in France. Someone has said we need to put on some Marker Boards as we are travelling through Spain? Has anyone else had any experience of this.

We have a motorhome not a caravan but I know they like the maker board on the rear of bike racks to be aluminium red and white stripes. Ours was plastic and we didn't get stopped but that may be just down to luck.
You only need an additional board if your total unit length is over 12 metres. The board is the red/yellow type that you see on the rear of hgv lorries.
As above the Caravan club website has details

As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

A couple of years ago wee were in Collioure just about to have a 3 week break in Spain when some kind soul said they thought we would need marker boards to go. We checked our lengths and were 12cm over so decided not to risk going.
2 years on and we go next Friday Portsmouth to Santander for up to 8 weeks tour of Spain starting in the Picos then working south via Salamanca, Segovia, Toledo then down south and somewhere round Seville, hoping to go to Córdoba and Granada then up via Valencia across to Haro, somewhere in there we have Burgos, well that’s the plan anyway and we probably won’t get to do it all but looking forward to the adventure. If anyone knows any good coastal off road cycle paths we would be very interested and nearby campsites.
We are travelling fron Bilbao to Bergerac for 5 nights and then back down to Biarittz.Staying there for 2 weeks so looking at going back down to Spain whilst there. Tapas sounds great any recommendations.
