According to the symbols in the ACSI book, this camp site has no shop, bar, restaurant etc. Does anyone know if there are any places to eat nearby, or is it necessary to go into Bourges itself?

We stayed there this March, as it opened, and then coming back two weeks later. It is close to the town, plenty of bars, cafes, restaurants near by. We walked into the centre to see the sights, took about 10 minutes.

We thought it was a bit like a Caravan Club site - neat, orderly, gravel squares, pitches in straight lines, six metre spacing - but as you say no bar, no shop no restaurant on site. Early bed !

Heated sanitaires as well! Note that the electricity can trip quite easily and has to be reset by the reception.

As you approach from the peage, you cannot turn in left from the carriageway but take a little road to the right that is a loop with traffic lights. Nearest supermarket is right out of the site and first left. Fuel station next to the site.

Yes, we have been a few times!!!

Thanks for the useful information. We've decided to stay for two nights on our way back north because Bourges looks like such an interesting city - no less than twelve pages in our Michelin guide!

We’ve stayed here quite a few times out of season using ACSI, lovely neat site, I think it used to be a Municipal, we have always walked into Bourges which takes 20 minutes or so, lots of nice places to eat.
We even joined in the torchlight procession that starts from the Cathedral, I never understood a word but kept nodding & smiling!
Well worth a visit.

We stayed at a weekend when on our way home a few years ago. We struggled to even find coffee on Sunday morning in the cathedral area.
