Need a site for one night between Cherbourg and La Tranches sur. Mare for family of 4. Were booked in to Camping club Brunelles on the Sunday but sail in to Cherbourg on Saturday AM so looking for any site recommendations along the Route from Cherbourg for one night. Any recommendations appreciated

Camping Municipal de St Aubin de Cormier.
Just north of Rennes.
Really nice ville, camping right by the lake, so peaceful and reviving.

Have you visited Mont St Michel? If not you can do that from a stop over at Camping Vallee de la Selune near Pontaubault.

No we havent done Mont St Michel, so this is an excellent idea. We havent taken the Cherbourg route before so the are us unchartered for us. Will look in to this, thanks

Camping Municipal de St Aubin de Cormier.
Is on the edge of the village, there are restaurants and fast food joints in walking distance. In the morning if the market is open look out for the mobile crepe stall, they do an amazing savoury wholemeal sausage crepe, soo yummy!

Can't recommend a site. But another suggestion for a town to visit.

Fougres - great castle (chateau), views, town & gardens. We were on our way up to the Ouistream ferry port and did an overnight stop at a cheap hotel and a visit to a town. Made a change from camping for us.
