Do I need to muzzle my dogs at ferry port when their being scanned for micro chip
I have just travelled via Dover, and the procedure was that I was handed a scanner at the P&O book in kiosk. I scanned our dog whilst still in the car.
Brittany Ferries rules are that dogs must be muzzled any time they are out of your vehicle.
I have crossed over 30 times and have never muzzled our dog but I do have one just in case they insist!

You walk into the Pet Passport Office at the Eurotunnel Terminal at Coquelles and see about a dozen dogs.
Some salvinating around the mouth, others wagging tails and relaxed, other 'Fur Babies' gathered in arms and held close to the owners chest, the occasional bark or order to sit and you aren't sure how yours will react.
If you even have the thought in your mind that a muzzle may be required then get one fitted and keep the dog on a tight short lead.
Better to be prepared for any slight hint of aggression from other dogs and make sure you are in full control.
We've never had any problems or concerns - but it's better to be safe than sorry.
