Anyone recommend Ardeche area site that is super dog friendly. I mean one where larger dogs are welcomed and people don’t scoop up their handbag dogs when they see our two coming🤪😜

------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.

When we've stayed at Les Ranchisses, there are lots of larger dogs there. Last time , remember seeing couple of GSD's and a Burmese (I think). In fact, don't remember seeing any small ones at all. Great dog bath there too... own room with ramp up to sink for bathing, very posh! We're looking to take ours there in a few weeks too - golden and cocker!
We've always found most sites in France very dog-friendly. I think problems only arise when dogs aren't tethered on pitches and when owners have their dogs on long leads and think it's fine for their dogs to approach other dogs regardless.
You can use the Eurocampings.co.uk website to look at all sites in the Ardeche which accepts dog(s) in high season and see if there is anything which fits your other requirements from a site.
But as has been said, I think most sites are happy to accept more than one dog - but of course it does depend and the type and the temperament of individual dogs as to how they react to each other.
I think the owners who scoop up their 'handbag dogs' are actually being quite responsible. My son has a BIG dog and it's always the little terriers or lap dogs, who run up yapping and snarling, and are the biggest problem. If a big dog turns and retaliates by barking back, or by snapping or snarling then the little dog owner is defensive.........! "He didn't mean anything.......". It's much better for the owner to pick up the dog to prevent accidental damage from a bigger dog 'answering back'.

I have a small dog and would possibly pick him up if I met two large dogs or move out of the way. Because lots of people say my dog is very friendly and then they let them bark at me and my dog. I don't want to met any dog that barks and goes on at me on a site be it small or large. I think people are being sensible you know you dogs others don't.
