We survived and enjoyed our first foray into statics (have reviewed Camping du Poulquer on here) - although the husband has started muttering about motorhomes again, having previously ruled one out!
What we were wondering is if there are any coastal sites in France where the statics have a sea view from their pitch? We're particularly interested in Brittany, Normandy and the west of the Vendee. A river view is another possibility.
I believe that Les Sables Blancs near Concarneau has 'statics with a view' but we've pretty much done that area now.
It's for next year, so if anyone spots suitable sites on their travels, would be glad to hear of them!

Camping Bel Sito has views across the dunes to the sea (and the channel islands).

We've camped there three or four times and have really enjoyed it every time we've been.

Camping Port L'Epine on the north Brittany coast. But one tip is to spend some time looking at google earth - and following the coastline around areas that you haven't visited. It's pretty easy to see sites which have mobile homes looking out to sea.

Camping Fond de la Baie at Locquirec is right on the beach and has wooden chalets rather than statics to rent.

we have a static in france (which we imported ourselves and are now on our second import) AND a motorhome - the static is great and worth more than we paid as it is now sited, but the motorhome gives us so much freedom to find the types of places you are looking for and stay for FREE!!

but please dont think that motorhoming is cheap - yes you can do it cheaply and many do, but if you want the extra comfort and luxury in your motorhome its prob cheaper to 'rent a tent' (or caravan etc)

but with the motorhome we have found so many places we love and enjoyed staying in for free that it made the initial outlay worthwhile (a second hand motorhome not a new one) and made it not much dearer than a posh tourer (and they are NOT cheap!)

so, hubby reconsidering the idea may not be such a bad idea after all!

Camping le Chatelet in St-Cast-le-Guildo on northern Brittany coast. Stayed in a mobile home with stunning sea views about 10 years ago, lovely site, right on coast, beaches and plenty to see and do in town and wider area.
