Is this for a Motorhome or a caravan ? For motorhomes there are Aires in most towns and villages just off the motorway but for caravans it is much more limited.

At that time of night your best bet will probably be Aire de la baie de somme, it’s about an hour this side of Rouen, there is a separate area for caravans, signposted. But it may be busy at that time.

If you are arriving at Dieppe and travelling to the Vendee isn`t the Baie de Somme aire in the wrong direction for you?, and you will also have to go onto the paid section of autoroute to get to it.
I am sure that one of the towns off the N27 between Dieppe and Rouen will have an aire.

I was looking at a map and thinking that with a caravan I would drive for an hour from Dieppe towards the Pont de Normandie and pull into the big E Leclerc supermarket car park at Yvetot - but there will be no water or toilets overnight so that perhaps rules it out for a VW Camper - but CamperContact.com will have lots of options of Motorhome Aires for you which aren't available to caravans.

Again that's in the wrong direction from Dieppe to the Vendee. I think I would just do what we used to do, years ago, drive along until we're too tired to drive much further and then immediately look for somewhere to park for a few hours. In the past that has included (like Netherton's suggestions) a supermarket carpark, the forecourt to a railway station, and a disused factory parking area! You can then get off to an early start before any commuters, or business customers start arriving, and stop in an hour or two for a wash and brush up at a service station somewhere!

I'm not sure which of the possible alternative routes you will be taking, but you can be sure there will be plenty of places to stop if you're used to staying overnight 'off-grid'!

The tea time ferry from Newhaven is very much cheaper than the morning or the midnight ferries because you get off the boat at 10-30 pm, and you should remember the time it now takes to get through French customs.

You'll be arriving in France in the dark and driving south towards Rouen. There aren't any aires between Dieppe and Rouen so the trip is non stop.

All the campsites are closed at this time of night so your stop will be at an aire or a supermarket car park.

Yes I know Allencon is more than 2 hours, but there's not much else to stop for.

There is an Aldi with it's own car park at Camping Vitamin just outside Dieppe. If you don't want to drive through the night stop here and sleep in your vehicle.
Their exit gate is currently broken so if you were booked in as a late arrival you could even camp here, it is a young lively site with an external bar and may book you in as a late arrival.

If you are determined to push on through the night then head for camping Municipal at Alencon. They have external parking where you could sleep in your vehicle until dawn, then when they open you could choose to enter the campsite and rest up in their very relaxing grounds, a walk on the gentle riverbank will do you good.

There are Motorhome Aires at Auffay,Montville, Clere and Val de Saane between Dieppe and Rouen.   Most have a borne for water etc.    Would be fine for just an overnight stop.

Hi,thanks again for replys. We've just set sail now,I think we'll probably see how I feel when we arrive in France. Feeling ok at mo but just done a 7 hour drive so will probably be shattered later and the lights aren't the best on my old van. Maybe staying at the Aldi just outside Dieppe will be the best option, see how I feel in 4 hours! Thanks again!

Good luck - and do let us know where you decide to stay. YOu may get a second wind if you get chance to get your head down on the ferry for an hour or two. All the best for your holiday!
