New on here so please be kind to me.
We are coming into Santander via Brittany Ferries mid January enroute to Playa La Tropicana C&CC rally near Valencia.
We are towing a twin axle caravan and have a dog.
I’ve checked through postings over the last 6 months for a similar thread but can’t find one so here goes.
Arriving in the port 17:30 so likely to be off within an hour. Not a newbie to driving in Spain with the van and previously motor homes but would prefer not to have to drive overnight in the dark. Our first stopover is Zaragoza but would like to overnight near the port if possible and strike off the next day.
Any guidance?

I am told that caravanners have been known to join the motorhomes which stop overnight on the car parks at the Cabarceno safari park about 30 minutes from the ferry, but I have no experience of it.
Hi
We head for Alicante and like to go around Madrid. We overnight at Camping Riaza at Riaza about three and a half hours from Santander, they accept arrivals up to ten pm. It's a ten minute drive off the motorway and you can stay hooked up. They are in the ACSI book so it's 17 euros for the night. Not sure if this helps you but this our preferred route for the last five years.
Cheers

Have stayed at Caberceno Nature Park aire in January. There was a caravan there. Police came down to check out other car park by lake and ignored them, so assume you may be ok for one night. They'd been there longer.
Just google Caberceno aire Spain and a you tube vid comes up.
There was 2 bars up the hill in the village and a hotel with restaurant which we ate in (no english spoken) but very nice.
Don't make the mistake of going to the zoo entrance like we did.
Good luck
