I had this problem when the N28 (A28) bridge was closed and I had to take an alternative route. Tomtom took me along the embankment in a westerly direction. No problem until I found myself in the left hand lane which went under a low bridge (rather than a tunnel as such). I recall two such bridges of 2.6m - OK so far - then suddenly one of 1.8m ... and I had a roofbox on top.
Spiritburner's picture above shows this quite clearly... and the fence which means you can't get out of the lane if you have a problem. Fortunately for me a kindly French driver with perfect English guided me slowly through with about 5mm clearance.
The lefthand lane, which passes under the bridges, can be clearly seen on Google maps. It's the white lane next to the dual carriageway (D6015) shown in yellow.
Be warned!
