The Dordogne is a bit lower than normal - we were trying to decide how much a few days ago. Looking at old photos - we think a foot or so. There’s still a reasonable flow, not quite as good but ok, enough to drift along on. We’re at La Bouysse, near Vitrac.
Lovely place Valon a bit like York but much warmer. Loved it - it was very warm though.
We’ll definately go back at some point once the ‘B’ word is sorted out so we know what the state of play is with the dogs and hopefully the pound v euro will be back at a sensible level.
We were in Brittany in June and it seemed to me that the French were less helpful than in previous years probably due to the ‘B’word.
Also a couple of Dutch and a Belgian enjoyed telling me how stupid the brits are for deciding to quit the EU. I found myself defending the democratic decision of the UK to do so despite the fact I am firmly on the flip side of the argument. Shouldn’t have to justify it to the Dutch or the Belgians. Perhaps they’re worried they’ll have to pay their way for a change?
I don’t think most French know much about brexit. The Gilet Jaunes beside the road were all very friendly when I waved my yellow vest at them as I drove their ramshackle roadside setups.
The Dutch can go forth & multiply. Any carp from them just mention Thierry Baudet...
