We've just travelled with Speedferries and will never do so again (nor any catamaran). The vessel was an hour late leaving Dover but the check-in staff didn't warn us that boarding would be delayed - hence we were stuck in our car for an hour before we heard on the PA system at the dock of the delay. We have two young children - the play areas on board are tiny and occupied them for about 15 minutes, then, because of the small size of the vessel, there was nowhere to take them and nothing to occupy them. The crossing was so rough that both adults and children were vomiting. Yes, it was cheap, but it was no relaxing start to a holiday. Give me a proper sized big boat any day.
