HI All,Been looking at sites near Annecy for a June 2020 holiday.
There are quite a few ACSI sites, some with good reviews and looking at their sizes, situation and facilities Camping L'ideal and Europe look good possibilities.
If anyone has any recommendations regarding sites in this area I would be very grateful to hear them.
Thanks.
------------- Allan
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
We have only stayed in the area once and we stayed at the other end of the lake from the town at Camping La Ravoire. It was a lovely site right on the cycle path and just opposite the lake. We had a great time and would definitely go back again.
We stayed at camping Lac Bleu in Doussard.
There are fantastic views of the lake from there and in June you even get a lakeside pitch.
It at the far end of the lake from Anne you town but a traffic free cycle path is accessible directly opposite to take you there.
------------- It's only an expensive hobby when it's parked on your Drive....use it, love it , live it.

We stayed at La Ravoire several years ago - lovely spot overlooking the lake. As Pixie says easy cycle route into town or the village the other way to Doussard. If you're feeling lazy you can sit in the sun watching the paragliders jumping off the mountain the other side of the lake down to Doussard. A good day out is a trip to Chamonix to view Mont Blanc.
------------- Mother Nature always wins in the end.

Hi, Lac Bleu has had a few recommendations on other forums. Did you book and were you able to request a lakeside pitch?
Prices are higher than nearby ACSI but they do an offer, stay 14 nights pay for 10, that lowers the price to sub ACSI levels.
Do not like booking a site I have not been able to visit but if a lakeside pitch is possible that would swing it for me.
Thanks
We stayed at Lac Bleu last September. Views of the lake are fabulous. We emailed with dates to see what pitches they had available and then chose from camp plan on website. Staff were helpful Pitches are not huge though but we have a 7.4m caravan and managed. We were 1 row back from lakeside and had uninterrupted view.hope this helps.

Stay a week and see how you like it. I think you would be bored with a full fortnight there. There are other lovely parts of the French Alps.
Hi Netherton,as we have discussed before our trips are always a balance of various factors.
By choice I would not book, but my wife would be happier if we could.
I don't mind moving regularly but my wife does.
So, as said, do I go for my approach and take whats available on arrival or see if a lakeside pitch is available and book if it is at a site that I have no experience of and based on minimal info??
Will mail the site and see what is available for my dates but have noticed that my planned leaving date coincides with a sharp price rise so hoping that there will be more availability when we are planning to go.
