Looking for a site around the Carnac area,
Going late May.
Got 2 kids age 12 & 9, they prefer a large pool with slides, also want to be near to a beach.
Looking at La Grande Métairie, Camping De La Plage or Camping Le Kervilor.
Went to La Grande Métairie a couple of years ago, we enjoyed the site but it was more geared for statics not tourers.
Any recommendations would help, I’ve already looked on campsites search.

I can't actually help you choose a site, but would say that for that time of year in Brittany you should look for sites with indoor heated pools, rather than outdoor ones.

If you want a big pool I would rule out Camping de la Plage as their pool is tiny.

Thanks Pixie,
last time we were in the area we walked around Camping de la Plage,
It seems that the nearer the site is to the beach the smaller the pool is!

Think the sister site of Camping de la plage, Camping de la Baie (next door) has a bigger pool and more for kids to do. The beach is fantastic with great walks and cycle routes into Carnac and La Trinite. Remember that a lot of the sites have fairly limited facilities before mid July, but it’s reflected in the lower prices.

The weather late May will not be great, unless you are very lucky. The pools are generally not heated if outdoors so choose wisely! Camping Atlantique is very good although not as far south as carnac, and their pools are heated

Thanks everyone,
We always go end of May due to the kids school holidays.
The weather hasn’t been that bad for us so far in the last 6 years we’ve been going to France.

We've stayed at La Grande Metairie and Camping de La Plage. We liked them both although we stayed in a static at La Grande Metairie and camped at La Plage. The pools at the first are great and there was a small indoor pool which was lovely and warm and another covered pool. La Plage pool is very small but the location was perfect and decent sized pitches and very clean toilets.
Last summer we camped at Mane Guernehue which may be worth a look at. It's a little further from the beach but the best pool complex I've seen on a site. The pitches were very large. We visited Carnac while we were there and it was only about a half hour drive. They have a large lovely warm indoor pool with an indoor slide which the kids loved.

Thanks ammdkids,
We’ve looked at Mané Guernehue it got what we needs but it’s a little too far from a beach, you’re right about La Plage the pool is small but in a perfect location next to the beach.
