Hi all,
After enjoying a wonderful holiday 2 years ago nr La Rochelle
we have decided try go again in july 2020 we are looking for a nice site which is both quiet but nearby an area where there are restaurants bars and shopping ideally near the beach.
Had looked at Argeles-Plage La Chapelle Rousillon but wondered if anyone had some reccomendations
thanks in advance
bryan

When we camp at Argeles we use "Camping Les Pins", 4/5 mins walk into centre of town. Argeles has no pretensions of being Ste Tropez, but is an uncomplicated family resort, we like to spend a few days there on the way to Spain.

Try le soliel nr Argeles. its right next to the beach and easy access. Argeles is a 15min walk.

I would recommend further east towards Valras Plage. Les Sablons is a wonderful campsite with lots going on and direct access to a lovely beach.

Depends what you like but we loved Les Criques des Porteils last summer and are going back this year. Not in town but cyclable / walkable if you don't mind. Argeles in one direction and Collioure in the other. Campsite has 3 private coves which was one of the main draws going back.

Not an answer to your post, just a suggestion, nip over the border in to Spain, you have a much better chance of good weather some excellent campsites. Not knocking Argles, but traffic can get a bit frantic in peak season, not sure about July.
