Aquitaine is a very big area these days any specific area you were thinking of apart from Biarritz?
Aquitaine has always been a big area - stretching from the Gironde estuary down to the Pyrenees and inland to the Dordogne.
With the additions of Limousin and Poitou-Charentes to become Nouvelle Aquitaine it has become even bigger!
I tend to describe the South West as the area covered by the newspaper Sud Ouest - old Aquitaine (Gironde, Landes, Dordogne, Lot et Garonne and Pyrenees Atlantiques) plus Charente & Charente Maritime - La Rochelle down to the Pyrenees.
