Good morning
We are going to Duinrell in April and we would like to visit Amsterdam. Has anyone got any advice about parking? I have searched on google and the park and ride seems to be the cheapest, however it didn’t sound straightforward in terms of buying tickets. Any advice welcomed. Thanks.

There's a "How to do it" for Park and Rides on the official Amsterdam.nl website but as you say it's not straightforward because they don't all work in the same way. I would just give it a go and if you are stuck some helpful English speaking Dutch person will tell you what to do. Go for it!
Don't even think about parking or driving in Amsterdam. The locals obviously manage somehow. I don't recall seeing any car parks and I think on street parking, if it's available, is strictly controlled and expensive if you can get it. It's bad enough crossing the road with speeding bikes and trams to negotiate. A taxi ride can be an experience and an expensive one if you're unlucky. The good thing is that the locals are so helpful, you can't go wrong.

Why would you ever want to take a car anywhere near the centre of Amsterdam? There is bound to be a station near to the campsite, park there and get the train in.
It is just off the motorway ring on correct side of city for you. Outside of the campsite is a large carpark. Free when I last used it. There is a train station right there with with trains to city centre every few mins.
The only way you can pay train fares in Holland is with a rail card. You can buy a tourist card. Look on train website here. You could also take a train from further out maybe from near your campsite even.

I spent a week in Amsterdam on a course, parking was limited and expensive. We used the excellent trams. You bought a Strippenkart, which was a long ticket which you insert in the machine to validate each trip.
Not sold on the tram but in shops and at stations. (It was a while ago so may have changed now.)
To get in and out of city the trains were frequent and reasonably priced. They have double decker trains so plenty of seats.
You may be able to buy a family ticket for both.

Park and ride works very well! If you park after 10 oclock and travel by metro or tram down town you pay 1 euro for parking. Public transport for 3 pers was 6,50. 2 pers 4 euro.
Tickets you can buy at the ticketmachine in English.
strippenkaart stopt in 2009!,
You can travel with public transport with a OV chipcard.
But when you park in a p&r park you dont need one.

Another vote for this campsite they also sell the train/tram/bus tickets and can advise on the best one for you the tickets we bought gave us unlimited journeys within Amsterdam for two days on all public transport.
I drove into Amsterdam a few times many years ago, but haven't for a long time now, we used a park and ride on the outskirts a few years back but it had height restrictions that stopped anyone with a roof box or people carrier entering.
When we worked on Duinrell we used to get the train from Voorshoten its only about 3 miles away, as far as I remember it has a large car park and trains every half hour.
If you are still not sure then either the main reception or Eurocamp reception should be able to give you details of park & ride or recommend alternatives.
Oh, you can check times and prices here, looks like there's a direct train every half hour
