We are planning to fly to Bordeaux at the start of July for a couple of weeks staying in mobile homes (the girls, aged 17 and 19, will no longer stay in the trailer tent :)). I am therefore looking for camp sites that are drivable from Bordeaux and have something for older teenagers. Like other older teenagers :) Any suggestions gratefully received.

We liked Vert Bord 'Eau It's got a bar, swimming pool etc. Pizzeria and supermarket across the road. Easy drive to the outskirts of Bordeaux to pick up the park and ride tram thingy. Might be a bit quiet for your needs.
We were in tents though so I've no views on their statics.
Try looking at sites around Lacanau ocean and carcans plage, I think the latter has a Huttopia site.
Look on the campsite search here.
We love this area, about 30 miles from Bordeaux with the airport on that side.
Great beaches, water sports, surfing.
You might need to do a bit of research but a great area. We go there every year for the cycle paths.
Crikee, when I was 15 and sister 17 my parents left us at home when they went on holiday. I just left a very sunny Bordeaux this morning. When I arrived on Monday it was 23c and sunny (that was 3rd feb).
We go to sites in the vendee so cant actually recommend a particular site but many years ago I drove as far as Spain with a mate in a triumph spitfire.
Anyway the area near Arcachon was very beautiful and I saw its not far from Bordeaux. Unfortunately I didnt have the time for a diversion over there.
The dune du pilat is quite spectacular.
I can recommend Yelloh! Village sites if thats any help. There should be plenty for teenagers to do at these. We usually stay at MS vacances sites which are even better for the teens they lay on daily activities for all ages but they are down with the kids and stage flash mobs and pool parties and foam parties.
There is a Yelloh! Site I just saw at pilat if it’s any help.

It might boost their interest in a French camping holiday. I think the French do camping very well. This video was of the 20th anniversary party which was in 2018. They had a 20th anniversary party every week though and we were at one of them . However we went Last year and most nights they had entertainment and party nights, fire eaters and stilt walkers etc . And 2 foam parties a week. The animations staff don’t stop, kids clubs all day then entertainment at night.
