We are staying at camping Locronan in Brittany end of June. Any advice on pitches etc. We’ve got a bailey rimini, full awning and 4x4 so want a spacious pitch, with sun and shade. Also places not to be missed.

I think you should just go and look at the site and discuss with the owners how far up the hill you want to be - it has several levels terraced into a steep hillside with flights of steps linking each level. How mobile are you? I doubt if the site will be full in June so you should be able to have a choice of pitches

Locronan village is quaint and pretty and therefore attracts a lot of day visitors. There wasn't a huge amount to detain us for more than a couple of hours but we enjoyed strolling around.

I think you have made a good choice and that you will like it there. We were in that area in September 2019 - although in a house not a campsite.

Quimper is a fine old town with lots of interest - we drooled at the range of foods as we wandered the indoor market hall and can recommend lunch at the seafood restaurant Bar Iode right alongside. They cook from their own market stall.

Going out west from Locronan we liked the cliff walks along the north side of the headland going out to the Pointe du Raz and little sandy coves like tne one at Pors Peron. That's take a picnic country - no seafood restaurants out that way. The Pointe du Raz itself was a bit of a shock - such a huge car park and so many motorhomes and the neighbouring Pointe du Van was more to our taste and just as spectacular.

And if you get out to the end of the other big headland beyond Crozon try to find your way down through the dunes to the surfing beach beyond St Hernot - it was so quiet down there that one or two people were swimming even though they had forgotten to bring swim costumes.
