I've booked the Eurotunnel for the end of July return August. Have any other people booked through them? I paid by credit card so if the campsite is closed, I am hoping to get my money back.
If Eurotunnel is open then they may argue they are prepared to honour your travel arrangement.

I see on the Eurotunnel Twitter feed this morning that they are still persisting with their delay for 12 months after the booking date rather than the travel date. All despite the fact that the UK FCO are advising against travel and the French authorities won't permit travel unless it's exceptional reasons. Let's hope they recognise the reality of people's situations soon and scrap their ridiculous policy during the lockdown.
Spot on Claydon, but in fairness to Eurotunnel, they are usually good at accommodating customers. I think they will come up with something. I booked last October and am hopeful my September trip (changed already from May) will be allowed after this is over - say next year?

Not sure if this is right right place, but my daughter has just passed me this advice from the French mag CampingCar.
I signed up to the Gov.UK France travel advice in March as at that time we were still unsure of whether we could get to France in May. I have received updated emails but not for a while and the last definitive advice came on the 8th April with details of the requirements to enter France and to travel in or through France. 2 "Attestations" will be required ,1 to enter France and a separate one to travel in France. As far as I am aware these requirements still apply as the advice on the Gov.UK website has not changed. I checked the website today and it still says exactly the same.
As we were due to be in France on the 19th May all that has been cancelled including our reservations at Camping Le Paradis in the Dordogne where we had booked 2 chalets, one for us and one for our son and family. Le Paradis were very prompt in cancelling our reservations on the 27th April as they still have no idea when they will be allowed to open. They offered either a credit note or a refund on our deposits but as the sites are really struggling we decided to take the credit note which is for 18 months as we want them to be there next year and in the future so if we could help by not asking for a refund we decided that was best and we had the credit note on the 28th April.
Good luck to everyone who is still hoping to go to France later this year and as they say "Stay Safe"
Cheers BenNevis for posting that link. That website looks like a good source of ongoing info. I have bookmarked it for future use. Several articles on that website suggest the French proactively want to rescue the summer season. So we remain optimistic. Certainly the minute it is all ok to go we will be there.
Following his speech, No 10 confirmed a reciprocal deal with the government in Paris meant restrictions would not apply to passengers from France. In a joint statement, the UK and French governments said they had agreed to "work together in taking forward appropriate border measures", adding: "This co-operation is particularly necessary for the management of our common border." The statement added: "No quarantine measures would apply to travellers coming from France at this stage; any measures on either side would be taken in a concerted and reciprocal manner.
