Hi Kelper, I copied and pasted the legislation for the link you sent me and emailed it to Nantes Camping. They are now issuing a refund. Many thanks for your help. One down one to go!

Thanks Gambolia,
Issuing vouchers instead of refunds are ok for some people . I do think the sites are doing this because let’s face it how will they survive in this horrible situation.
But I would rather have the refund , will we go next year we don’t know as much as we love France and have been 4 times , we are in uncertain times . Not only the U.K. but so many countries are going to suffer.
According to French law on this:- if the customer (you) cannot use the voucher in the allotted time then you the customer should be refunded (whatever the reason)

Update, Camping Erreka is not going to issue me a refund because the French border is open. Not being able travel to due to Covid-19 restrictions not a reasonable reason according to them. Booked though booking.com who tried to mediate but also got nowhere as Camping Erreka ignored them too.

It might be open, but FCO advice in the UK is still against all but essential travel, which was also in place on your booked dates.
Can understand they don't want to lose money on the 1 hand, but on the other in the long run they may have been better off giving at least a voucher, in the interest of good customer relations.

And there lies the problem, like most French businesses, they don’t care about the customer.
