We too booked ferry to France 19th June, how can you isolate for 14 days when arriving in France have your two week holiday travel back to uk isolate for 14 days. A two week holiday has now taken six weeks . Hubby cannot have this amount of time off so it’s no holiday for us .

We store in France and have considered bringing the caravan back to the UK to take holidays here. I really don't look forward to holidays in the UK, so it's looking like bringing the caravan back, selling it and doing gites or static caravans in France when it's possible to do so without worrying about hospitalisation in France, travel insurance etc etc. I don't feel good about it, but I'm paying storage costs and caravan insurance, depreciation etc and I'm not getting holidays. Also the bonus of being able to get a smaller car as we're moving into the city soon. Sad, but life has to change.

It really is a case of all bets are off until things get back to normal, whenever that might be, probably not until next year at the earliest.
Or at least I hope so, as I am planning to go down to the Cote d‘ Azur, June 2021.

France are to introduce a 14 day quarantine for visitors to France, that includes visitors from the UK,the date hasn't been announced yet.
saxo1
The French announcement makes it clear that visitors will be "asked" to go into quarantine, and specifically stated that is will be voluntary.
Travellers will also be required to sign a sworn statement confirming they have no symptoms of CV19.
It's nothing like as onerous as the UK's planned measures, and It's more likely a case of the French wanting to display their displeasure at the UK's announcement, and in my opinion it's unlikely to happen or be enforced. It will also only happen if and when and during the period the UK enacts it's quarantine requirements which again are unlikely to last long
We'll have to see how it plays out.
Ian
The way I read it is that the voluntary quarantine is for travellers from Europe and for those from the UK it is mandatory.

Here's the quotes direct from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs
"...the Government is setting up, from Monday 25 May 2020, a voluntary fortnight scheme depending on the country of origin of travelers ..."
".... for travelers from European countries (that's European Union member States, the United Kingdom, Andorra, Iceland... etc etc..) whose authorities have decided, in a non-coordinated manner, to apply a fortnight measure to travelers entering their territory from European countries, a voluntary will be requested, by reciprocity..."
"....For example, from Monday 25 May onwards, travellers arriving from Spain, on flights only, will be asked to go into voluntary quarantine..... Likewise, travellers arriving from the United Kingdom, whatever their nationality, will be invited to go into a 14-day quarantine period when the British 14-day quarantine measure .... actually comes into force...."
Link to the original press release from the French Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs:
https://www.diplomatie.gouv.fr/fr/le-ministere-et-son-reseau/actualites-du-ministe........
Further, if you are just travelling through France to get to Spain , Belgium / Holland whatever, you are exempt
"....The following persons will be exempt from the voluntary quarantine system....people in transit to another country......"
As I mentioned above, in my opinion the UK's quarantine is unlikely to carry on past the end of June, so it's probably all inconsequential anyway
Cheers
Ian
