I have never been ashamed of being English ,nor being British.I have been embarassed though, concerned others would judge me by my countrymans actions.Fortunately most people don’t.

It still amazes me how people (who don’t / can’t speak French) just shout loudly at the staff in reception ?assuming/believing that this will make them understood. I sometimes feel like I’m watching a 70’s comedy sketch! Sometimes, I want to hide my passport! I love France and we endeavour to ‘have a go’ as much as possible, esp. on municipals and out of the way cafes/ museums where English is not always spoken (and rightly so)- in our experience.
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
I've bitten the bullet and booked Dover/Calais for 23/7, coming back 7/8. I had DFDS in my basket but then went to look for a code, when I got back all ferries were full for Thurs/Fri/Sat so had to go on the P&O site and got £212 return.
Don't know whether to do the Ardeche or this one in Ile de Re..

Never been to ardeche, but Ile de re would get my vote... clean, cycle and family friendly, and thanks to the bridge toll relatively free of “trash” 😂😂
In six years of going to France camping, the only “problem campers” I have come across were French, who were eventually asked to leave the site.
Without sounding horrible, we tend to go to France to avoid “problem campers”.
Funnily enough, our worst ever night was in a place called Camping La Bretonniere, (anyone familiar with it knows it is in the middle of nowhere), it was our last night before a long drive back to the UK and we were kept awake all night with some sort of rave in the middle of a field around a mile away, it was awful and didn’t shut up till around 6am, we were up at 8am to pack up and drive home!!

In Spain ( camping Trueumal) I had all of my stuff in the communal freezer nicked by Dutch kids. In France I had a Dutch woman storm into my awning at 5pm on my birthday to turn down my music (it was a tiny bluetooth speaker). The next morning that same woman was effing away at breakfast to her kids (why do they swear in english?)- I sorted her out and had French campers clapping me.
I would warn anyone to stay away from staysure due to personal experiance had to use the ombudsman to get them to payout on a cancelled cruise.long story, but I know from that experiance I am not the only who's had problems with them
