Could i just ask are you allowed to leave your car windows shut whilst travelling?
Thank you
You can keep your windows closed.
Thanks for the info
A bit of a misleading answer there, staff always ask you leave your windows ajar, so the answer is no you are not allowed to leave your windows closed.
actualy it isnt. we returned this morning (after going out on the 15th so we were one of the first motorhomers to go back after the borders opened). on both the outward and inward journeys we were NOT advised to keep our windows open, HOWEVER keeping your windows open is the normal requirement, perhaps current circumstances have negated that?
i always though it was to allow the internal car pressure to equalise with the internal pressure of the carriage, but realistically, how many cars are actually that airtight, that it wont equalise automatically without opening the windows?
we are aware of the need to quarantine/self isolate and knew about it before we went out. travelling around france wasnt an issue, we were welcomed by the locals, masks were required in all shops but not everyone wore them. we completed the required return paperwork on line and just gave border control the reference number, which they were happy to accept.
