If things continue along this Covid path it looks like we’ll be in France at the end of next month. We are looking forward to it, it'll be our 6th summer in France.

Whilst we have most of it down to a fine art I'm sure some things will have changed and I don't want to fall foul of any new red tape.

For instance I read a post saying we need a sworn statement that we aren’t bringing Covid into the country and that face covering are mandatory. (are these medical grade or home made?)

Is it possible for those who are in France, or have done more research than I to post what they have learnt, it would really help us and i'm sure others too.

I'm also aware that by the time you post it the info may be out of date - I'd rather take something we don't need rather than turn up without something we do.

we came back to the UK this morning. we left the UK on the 15th - the first day the borders opened, to travel to the Vendee in our motorhome and open up our static caravan

the only paperwork we needed was the one from the gov.uk website to come back to the UK, in truth we didnt even need the paperwork, we just filled it in online and gave border control the refernce number, no isssues, no problems (we have to self isolate/quarantine, but we knew that before we left)

no paperwork or forms to fill in to enter France and we were never asked or stopped by anyone and asked for any. plenty of gendarmes saw us and and acknowledged us being there but none stopped us for any reason,

masks are obligatory in shops, BUT are really only work by staff and those over at 35 years old.

everyone was very welcoming and we had no problems whatsoever, in fact if it hadnt been for the odd mask wearer, you wouldnt have noticed much difference, small reduction in traffic and people were respectful when walking past each other and no hugs or kisses

Having lived in France for some years until 10 years ago, and since then visiting 2 or 3 times a year here is my big question - - - how in the hell do I vist France without hugging or kissing anyone!

In our village in a very rual part of the Aude, according to friends, it has never stopped, and the old people have sat on the village benches, as usual, and had their daily walks together, shaken hands, and 'mwahed' on greeting each other. I think very rural French 'social-distancing' is a different kettle of fish to that in cities. There hasn't been a single case within about twenty miles.
