Diesel is still reassuringly cheaper than Petrol in France, why it is the other way round here in the UK, has always seemed bonkers to me, as it almost negates the benefit you get from a diesel car being able to do more MPG than a petrol car in almost every case.
And diesel also appears to still be cheaper in France than it is here in the U.K., especially with the £ being on it’s knees again.
Just avoid the motorway services, they are never cheaper anywhere (that I have been). Supermarkets are usually ok. We tend to stay at Guines the first night after crossing, and go to the supermarket there.

This web site will tell you the price for anywhere in France
Be careful if filling up in Calais, I had someone trying my back door while I was fuelling up at cite europe

Carrefour supermarket at Coquelles tunnel exit is charging €1.20 per litre today for diesel - which converts to about £1.10 sterling.
That is the first time in a while that it is cheaper in France.
