For the last 10 or 12 years, we use 15+ sites in each year and never book.
Only once have we found a site to be "complet". Going in off peak and not using the big hi-di-hi sites obviously plays a part in this.

Ferry and campsite transferred from 2020 to 2021. Even gave us a discount on the ferry so were able to upgrade slightly. Would usually have a couple of weekends in the UK planned, but really can't at the moment, which is frustrating.

Just had the 2021 ACSI books, the number of sites has gone from 3412 (2020) down to 2872 (2021).
Popular sites may be getting tighter.

Visit friends who live near Agen, probably May for three or four weeks. Mozambique, Safari Camp in August, learning how to track and live in the bush for two weeks. Not booked yet, still a bit to risky with C19, but that’s my dream.
September will probably be France again, unless we regurgitate this years plan to do Western Cape SA, Namibia, Botswana, Zambia road trip. Nothing booked as yet, but always leave things pretty late anyway, for France we will only book a day or two before we go.
