I am looking for a good family site in the Arcachon/Biscarrosse region for a summer holiday - peak time.
Somewhere along the coastline not far from the sea, decent site with good pool & facilities . . . any suggestions would be much appreciated.
I have looked at Domaine La Rive which ticks a lot of boxes but my only concern is the size of the site and how busy it will be in the August school holidays - has anyone had experience of this site during peak times.
Thank you.

Le Tedey is quiet, yet Lacanau Ocean is 4k away.
Theres a supermarket in Moutchic.
You can cycle to each beach....100k of 'pistes cyclable.
Pitches in the pine forest....access to the beach.....not at all commercial.
Spotless showers, WCs.....really great location about 1/2 from the road.
Deffo NOT like Les Castells or those horrible commercial sites.
Everyone I have recommended it to LOVE IT......we're long overdue a visit. We have been 6 times since 2001.....found it by default because I didn't like the Talaris or les Grand Pins. The website for le tedey is rubbish.....but persevere.
If you like peace and quiet, nature and a beautiful lake...this is the place to be.....and the lakeside bar is wonderful.

Hi Nick, Stayed at La Rive in 2019 on last trip abroad. It was in June so not high seas but was quite busy.
Enjoyed the site, good size pitches, but some tight access roads, and good facilities including a very nice pool complex.
It’s possible to do lots of cycling from the site and some decent days out such as Dune Du Pylat and Arcachon.
The great thing about Le Tedey is its proximity to day trips should the weather be too poor to cycle, sail or otherwise.
St Emilion is beautiful.
Blaye is amazing.
Bordeaux is beautiful

Perhaps a little out of target area, but we’ve stayed a few times at campings des families, near soulac sur mer. Cycle distance to a huge beautiful beach, family owned and run, spotless and small enough to let kids have a little independence. We have got in peak season too without too much bother. Couldn’t recommend highly enough for an old school family holiday… no water slides and discos, but a lovely little pool and Fred’s (the site owner) bar restaurant. Spar shop in walking distance.
I noticed that they have been 'eaten' by Slow Village....their ethos seems to play on the tranquility, so who knows.
Its definitely on the cards for 2023.
2022 has got to be Nanzel. Limone sul Garda.
Dreams at the moment but hey, we'll never take it for granted ever again.
Le Tedey and Nanzel tick ALL the boxes for sure.
