I had an email from AMTB asking me to update my card details, as it was about to expire. When I enter the details it looks like it wants to take payment without telling me an amount or whatever so I cancelled it. Am I doing something wrong or is this part of updating the card details?
Thanks

Thanks. We have had it for a few years without a problem and I think that I have updated the card etails in the past without going to a payment page. I'll do it and check the credit card statement next time round.
With my APRR account when I changed my card details they took a 1 euro payment as a test to ensure they had the right details then credited it to my account. Are you sure this is not the case here.

Atmb have sent me a link to access my account but for some reason the link has failed to arrive. Atmb seem to have ceased trying to rectify the position. Is it due to www.outlook.com or what?
Slán.
Could you let me know how you get on please? I also had a similar experience, though it seemed to want to charge me E147! Not sure if they missed a decimal point but I didn't want to try, especially as we won't be going this year.
Had a update reminder some time back, and changed to my UK card. This thread reminded me to change back to Halifax, that I use on the mainland.
No charges were incurred; but Halifax sent a code to another device, for two-factor identification. If you’ve not set this up, it’s a useful safety feature.

When I went to renew I had a warning that they wanted to take 5000 Euros!
So I didn't renew.
Frankly that’s nonsense and isn’t going to happen.
They give a detailed account of how many motorway tolls have been incurred - where they were, which motorway, and how many kilometres covered - and bill for that .

Well that is what flashed up in a box when I went to update my card.
This is not about how I get billed for my journeys, it is about updating my credit card. I though I had made that clear.
I had that a while ago and so didn't bother renewing, then got a message to say that there was an issue with the payment link that they were working to rectify but that no money would be taken from your card. I still didn't trust it, but when I saw a message to say the problem had been fixed I tried again and was able to register my new card details without any problem (or saying that I was authorising payment of large amounts of euros).
