It is how you view it I think. I am ok with it all. I booked return in mid Sept from Hook of Holland so probably spend the last 10 days in Holland if that is what is required. There seems no issues with driving cross border in EU anyway. If need be I can cross from France into Belgium on a farm track. I do know one. 
If the situation stays as it is now that is exactly what I will do too, we enjoy The Netherlands and know a few good sites there to spend 10 days before coming back.
