We've been visiting Lacanau - Camping Le Tedey - for the last 7 years and we're considering the lakes south of Bordeaux for next year; their names are confusing, but I think they are called Cazaux and Biscarosse.
We trailer an inflatable and take paddle boards so access to the water is important. Both lakes look like they have small marinas and jetties, so i assume the lakes are navigable.
I've look at the campsite reviews, but there's nothing very recent. It would be interesting to hear from campers who know Le Tedey and who've also visited any of these lakes...
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
Don't know le Tedey, but we went to Le Col Vert on Lac de leon, further on than the 2 you have mentioned. There are jetties for launching boats. Had a great holiday there.

We absolutely love this area....its great and its one of the very few places we return to year after year.....if all goes to plan then we should be there this time next month
We stay at a campsite which is between the two lakes and has its own beach with direct access to the water with a slipway.
I've definitely seen people from the campsite launch trailered boats from there - no idea if there's a charge though, we've only ever launched a kayak. Co-incidentally I recently had UKCS add the site because I noticed it was missing, and I wrote a review yesterday: https://www.campeole.co.uk/camping/landes/navarrosse-biscarrosse
The lake is very water sports oriented with lots of boats, paddleboards, kite surfing and other things. A quick google found these regulations: https://www.biscagrandslacs.com/sites/default/files/inline-files/lac-nord-cazaux-sanguinet-reglementation_0.pdf
There is also a canal linking the two lakes which I believe is navigable (though you'd need to check that out).

That looks ideal - thanks! We'll have a day trip to check it out...
Hi, We stayed at La Rive in 2019 and it has a good pool complex and access to the lake.
They had offers for longer stays and the pitches were of a good size. No idea re boating but some great off road cycling routes from the site.
Would definitely return.
We are regulars at Le Teday. I suppose you have been up to Maubuisson on the lake higher up. We often cycle up there and there is a nice campsite on the lake just back from the road.

Le Tedey is hard to beat. It was one of my first reviews back in 2010. It is a unique location.
We have since explored many regions of France but go much further North East to Italy. In particular the northern end of Lake Garda...the southern end is not as scenic and much more commercial. Crossing in Hull we take the Belgium, Alsace, Switzerland route.
Not this year though....its home in the Yorkshire Dales instead....the kayak and paddle boards will remain dry this summerš¢.
2022 is in mind. Its been 8yrs since we last visited Aquitaine....so who knows.
