We are due to go to Spain by ferry at the end of September and would really appreciate some guidance on what we need, we both have had our 2 jabs.
As I understand it we need a paper or digital copy of our proof of the jabs.
Do we also need to fill in the Spanish Health SPT HEALTH form 48 hours before departure as well ?
On the return we will need to get tested 3 days before departure and then fill in the UK passenger location form and then do the 2 day test
Is there anything else that we have forgotten?
Many thanks

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
All that is requirement right now Barry but things can change so you need to keep up with news on an ongoing basis. For example we went to France in June & are returning from Holland in mid Sept so I have had to keep up with changing requirements as to driving from France through Belgium & into Holland. Tests in Holland & so on.
That’s pretty much it Barry. We’re just back from 3 weeks in Spain, direct ferry both ways. As long as your paperwork is in order, it is surprisingly simple; Brittany Ferries check all the covid and vaccine stuff on check in.
What exactly is the test when departing from Spain, PCR, lateral flow test or antigen.
Can you actually get a test kit in the uk to take with you and use in Spain?
I thought you had to wait for the test results to get back from the lab?
To come back it can be pcr or lat flow/antigen. We had lat flow as cheaper, and result emailed to you within 15 mins. This test has to be taken within 72 hours of the ferry DEPARTING Spain, not arriving in England. Yes you can buy them to take with you and you email the photo of the result to get an official email back.
The day 2 test is a pcr that goes to a lab, taken within 2 days of arriving in uk.
Brittany ferries website explains it all well.
Has anyone travelled with a child over 12 years old?
I am looking at going to Spain in October.
He is not vaccinated his younger brother isn’t vaccinated but is under 12.
I am guessing he needs to do a PCR test before leaving the U.K. although in some Spanish documents it reads certain RAT (rapid antigen tests) are acceptable.
To add to the complications I am planning to enter Spain via Gibraltar because of the flights available and the area of Spain I wish to visit. This means we must all take a free RAT test on arrival in Gibraltar even though we will leave immediately. It may mean we must complete and retain 16 passenger location forms.
Does anyone have any experience of this route? Pre Covid we used to do it all the time. Flew to Gibraltar walked to la linea and collected our hire car and at the end of our holiday did the reverse.

Having just read the Gibraltar government page about Covid restrictions for entry through that territory I would look for flights to a Spanish airport instead.

How long does it take to receive your official details form the Spanish health people?
We are on the 32 hour crossing and want to print off the docs before we travel bearing in mind it has to be completed 48 hours before arriving in Spain.
Many thanks

That’s easier said, there are 4 of us. A flight to Malaga Would cost £900 more than the flights to Gibraltar.Malaga is also 2.5-3h drive from the part of Andalusia we visit. I was originally planning to fly to Seville and have flown to Seville and Jerez before but unless I drive to Manchester or stanstead then those routes are not running. The Gibraltar requirements look crazy but worth saving £900. I am travelling in school holidays so unfortunately flight costs are crazy.
