As we are not allowed to take food to Spain has anyone found a decent
Spanish dry dog food to buy in Spain? Are you allowed to take a few days supply with you until you can get to a pet shop/supermarket?

Try your dog with Lidl and Aldi own brand dog food here in UK before you go - then if it’s OK buy same product from one of their stores in France or Spain. But a good idea to take enough from home for the first day.
I realise you aren’t allowed to take meat based or milk based dog food including treats into the EU (unless you have written confirmation from your vet that your pet requires a certain dog food for medical reasons) but, can you take fish-based (am thinking Fish 4 Dogs)?
We use Zooplus here in the UK to buy dry dog food. They advise you can have the same food delivered by their Spanish branches. We'll find out in January.
I believe fish based food should be OK and you can take around 1.5KG of your normal food with you.

Another of the many little worries we had before coming to France earlier this month - and another one that needn’t have concerned us!
We brought a 3kg bag of their usual food with us (we have 2 dogs) and a bag of salmon and sweet potato (in case the normal food was confiscated!). No checks at all (out via the tunnel) and we have found similar quality dog-food easily available in the supermarkets over here.
One of our dogs seems to have quite a sensitive digestive system but after a lot of trial and error we’ve discovered that cheap, poor quality food suits her far better than the food with a higher meat content, so the challenge has been to find dog-food of the appropriate low quality!!!
For dogs with more discerning digestions, food by the major manufacturers is widely stocked in supermarkets (though often under a different brand name) as well as grain free options etc.
I’m not suggesting you break any rules but our experience between Dover and Calais at 0030hrs on Sunday morning- with very few cars at Dover was that French customs checked our passports, asked if we had a COVID certificate, although didn’t even look at them, then waved us through

Never thought about this why will Spain not allow you to bring food over, can you bring the tin food over not that my dogs eat it but what is the difference .seems a bit mad if you ask me
It’s not just Spain, it’s the new regulations because we are no longer members of the EU. Basically, you are no longer allowed to take meat or dairy products of any sort (including dry or tinned dog food) from the U.K. into the EU.
You can take special dietary dog food with accompanying note from your vet.
Or a fish based dog food.
------------- XVI yes?
As well is two words!
How does a sage know everything about everything? or does he? or does he just think he does?
Remember, if you buy something you bought it, not brought it.
