Hello all
We are looking to drive down to check out campsites in Mojacar in November, stopping in France and then again somewhere between Tarragona and Valencia. Struggling to know where to start to find somewhere for a stopover as we have a dog and will have bikes that we don’t want to leave on the top of the car ideally. Haven’t driven in Spain before so it’s uncharted territory. Any help or advice would be very gratefully received so thanks in advance 😊

Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!
I know someone who left dog and caravan at home and flew down to Malaga for a week to check out sites. Is that possible for you ? Or are you intending to stay there for a few months?
Our friends are doing exactly that but we are staying for a month to explore the area and to have the holiday we have missed for the last two years 🤷♀️ Our caravan is in France near Montpellier and the plan is to take it to Spain, but not this time for various reasons. She is an old dog and hasn’t been left before and we can’t start her with kennels now as she has always come with us. We have a perfect place to stop in France, it’s just the last night of the journey we are a bit stumped by.
Thanks anyway 😊
You can use booking.com to find somewhere which is 'pet friendly' (select from the options on the left of the page - on a laptop). Camping Bungalows Sol D'Or, at Peniscola, half way between Tarragona and Valencia/ It's a campsite offering mobile homes for just 39 euros a night, accepts pets, and get a reasonably good review score. You could take the bikes off and chain them up somewhere appropriate, or the campsite may have options for bike storage.
Plays Tropicana in Alcossbre just south of Peniscola is a good site to stay over and they are dog friendly as we stayed there every year. Bonus is that they have a proper supermarket on site, a full restaurant and two swimming pools and are right on the beach to take the mutt for its walk. See http://www.campingplayatropicana.com/
