We had ACSI and in 2017/18booked our sites before leaving the UK which was just as well as both sites were almost full as they were right on the seaside
If you're going to an all singing all dancing site at a popular resort on the coast at the height of the school summer holidays, then yes book it, any other time just turn up
Don't forget to leave a review of the French and other European campsites you have visited!

will i need to book sites on the costa del sol in april may and june or can i just turn up
In April it should be fine to simply turn up, but by June the sites in the ACSI card list may well be busy - those are the sites where everyone goes, so if that’s the case look outside that list. There will be options.

If Easter is in April it is best to book as the sites fill up quickly with locals plus it probably being a school holiday.
Turn up - but make sure you are well established a few days before the Easter weekend, as that's usually when Spanish families get out their tents and have a few days celebrating Easter somewhere other than home. Sites can get very busy (and very noisy) over the Easter celebrations.

Those sites you can book in advance using ACSI are indicated in the book. It's one of the codes in the listings that are detailed in the inside cover of the books. I can't remember which it is and have unfortunately just thrown the books away.
