Avoid Brittany at all costs! It’s full of little coves, cliff top walks, stunning scenery, quaint villages and us enjoying the lovely peace and quiet! You definitely wouldn’t like it 😉

We liked Camping du Poulquer in Benodet - a fairly quiet, small site close to the sea; du Letty is in an amazing location and may be worth a look outside the school holidays when it’s a bit quieter.
The position of Camping de la Plage in Le Trinite Sur Mer takes a bit of beating, backing onto a beautiful beach and with a coast path stroll into the town which has a great marina for people watching.
For castles in Brittany, you’ll need to go inland generally, but the fortified towns are fascinating - Concarneau, Vannes, Auray are great day trips.
And if you want castles , as a curved ball, what about Bordeaux? It can get a bit warm, so June or September might be better and also be less crowded, but some of the wine estates are spectacular. For a campsite suggestions, Chateau de Rauzan, near St Emilion, is in the shadow of a ruined chateau. A small, friendly site and very atmospheric!

Any site recommendations?
We’ll be going off season, and must haves are good loos and showers and location. Would prefer WiFi and a pool. ACSI is your friend out of season.

I would say give the Limousin a try, in particular Haute Vienne
