Hi,

does anyone know if the municipal site is open in Troyes this summer? Last time we were there, two years ago, it was shut for renovations and google says it is still 'temporarily closed'.

Any recommendations for a stopover in the area, if it's shut?

Hi Median, you can look at Camping Les Terres Rouges at Clérey - about 8 miles south of Troyes. It’s a two star site, quite simple, not posh, but nicely placed beside a lake.

If you want a bigger, dearer site with swimming pools, water slides and so on then look at Camping Lac d’ Orient instead.

According to the Troyes campsite webpage http://www.troyescamping.net/ It seems the site is no longer a campsite and the staff all work somewhere else. Shame really as we used it often in the past.

We used to use the municipal in Troyes quite often. It was a handy point on the journey and also we could walk into town or somewhere for a meal.

Since it has been closed we have gone a little further and used Lac d'Orient.

We've used the site in Troyes several times, but the last couple of times we pushed on for another 100km or so to Langres & stayed at Camping Navarre.
