Hi. Going to France in a couple of weeks. Loire. Down to dordogne the back up to the Loire

Just wondering. Are sites putting any restrictions on pools ,eg. Booking a time slot. Some English sites did this because of covid. We’ve got 3 grandsons going and want to be prepared.
Thanks.

We've visited several campsites this year and none had any restrictions so far as we could see.

Wouldn't necessarily rely on what's been common practice in recent past, France is suffering a worse resurgence in Covid cases than UK, some activities have reverted to more stringent rules like reintroduction of wearing masks on public transport. We had a text advising us masks were required for our return trip on Ferry couple of weeks back, they weren't required the week before on our way out!

Covid is a dynamic situation, it's difficult to know what restrictions will be in place at any future date, as rules change frequently and fast.

Be prepared for changing requirements.

Whilst Covid cases are rising in France (and the UK) I think the French ared doing all they can to encourage tourism, so I really can't imagine they will restrict access to pools. I think if they did, then we'd all be safer not swimming any way!

There were no restrictions on 'our' campsite pool during the stricter lockdowns of 2020 and 2021 when we fortunately managed to get there each year. In 2021 we were the only British visitors they'd had all season.

I am (as you can probably tell) ever the optimist. If it happens, I will deal with it, but won't even think about it in the meantime.

Masks aren't mandatory on B/F.

Remember that many French swimming pools have a no shorts rule, your grandsons may have to wear swim briefs, square cuts or jammers. once they get used to them they'll wear them around the whole campsite without a thought.

Hi,
Some French campsites we visited in 2020 & 2021 had notices saying they were restricting numbers of people in the pool but don’t think it was enforced. Not enough people there on sites in 2020 anyway 🤷🏻‍♀️

Just got back from two weeks in France, no restrictions on swimming pools in any of the three sites we visited, as for covid - more people do seem to be wearing masks in shops and supermarkets, P&O ferry there and back do not have any mandate regarding mask wearing and wasn’t asked at all for proof of vaccinations, we did notice a lot of people on camp sites do have bad coughs!, maybe or maybe not covid
