Morning all,

Just checking our route down through France, and Google says the N154 south of Dreux is closed until 22nd July.

This is unfortunate, as we should be heading through there in the next day or so.

We may be lucky and it might be open.

But I just wondered if anyone had been through there, and if so what diversions are in place?

Thanks v much

All I can see on Google is a report from 2018 about it being closed, are you looking at an old report? I would assume that the authorities would not want that road shut at this time of year.
I hope someone has something more up to date for you.

Just looked at Google routeplanner and it does show diversions in place, but they look straightforward.

The N154 seems fine but a bit of a holdup on N12

Given that there are always hold-ups at the junction with the N154 and A12 before Dreux, I've googled Pont de l'Arche to Chartres as we will be going that way shortly. I think I would take the google, avoiding Dreux, and using the alternative route through Nonancourt, through Laons and Chateauneuf en Thymerais then via the D939 to Chartres - we've been that way with the caravan, and google actually suggests it's three minutes quicker than following the recommended diversions!

Thanks peeps.... I'll have a look at the alternative.

Google (oddly) didn't give me a diversion, but I'll certainly look at the route via Nonancourt.

Hi Val. With the route you suggest do you actually go through the town of Nomancourt? After that all is clear.

Yes, and the first bit through the town is slightly tricky if there are a lot of parked cars. You take the D50 which takes you down the main street, and then turn right over the bridge, then immediately right again, through a few 'wiggles' and then from there on it's a straight road towards Laons.

Thanks. Have looked at it before after N12 frustrations. Too late for this year but will give it a go next June.

The N12 frustrations may not last too long. I'm pretty sure this is why the campsite at Saint Remy sur Avre is closed - because that's part of the proposed by-pass route. I'm sure there were boards giving the preliminary drawings for the by-pass. I'll have a look when (if) we go that way this time.

We went down that way in April, but came back on the route through Nonancourt, described above, because the traffic delays on the N12 were worse than usual.

It is odd, I have never been held up at the N12/154 junction, always easy round the roundabout - - maybe I have just been lucky.
